Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) is undertaking a comprehensive initiative titled “Reviewing and Updating Curriculum Design and Layout for the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Science,” scheduled to be held on 24.06.2025. The primary objective of this program is to modernize and align the academic curriculum with contemporary global standards, emerging industry demands, and national development priorities.
This initiative includes a systematic review of the existing course structures, learning outcomes, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies. SAU aims to ensure that the revised curriculum reflects the latest advancements in agricultural sciences, fisheries, aquaculture, marine science, climate resilience, sustainable food systems, and technological innovation.
The program also emphasizes active engagement with key stakeholders—including faculty members, students, industry experts, development partners, and policymakers—to identify current skill gaps and future workforce needs. Through workshops, consultations, and collaborative discussions, the University will incorporate valuable insights to design a curriculum that is practical, research-oriented, and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
By updating the curriculum design and layout, SAU seeks to enhance the quality of education, strengthen the employability of graduates, promote interdisciplinary learning, and support the nation’s agricultural transformation. This initiative reaffirms SAU’s commitment to producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive professionals who can contribute effectively to sustainable agricultural development and the blue economy.
