Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) is organizing a specialized program titled “Applications of Financial Management in the Public Sector: Focus of University’s Management” on 30 August 2025. This program aims to enhance the understanding and capacity of university officials, administrators, and financial personnel regarding modern financial management practices within the public sector, particularly in the context of higher education institutions.
Effective financial management is essential for ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficient utilization of public resources. The program will highlight the principles, tools, and techniques used in financial planning, budgeting, fund allocation, expenditure control, and financial reporting in public sector organizations. Participants will explore how these practices contribute to strengthening institutional governance, improving service delivery, and aligning financial decisions with the strategic priorities of the university.
Key discussion areas will include public sector budgeting frameworks, revenue and expenditure management, compliance with government financial regulations, procurement guidelines, auditing processes, internal control mechanisms, and risk management. The program will also address the challenges faced by universities in resource mobilization, financial sustainability, and effective use of digital financial systems.
Through expert-led sessions, case studies, and interactive group discussions, the participants will gain practical insights into best practices that support efficient financial operations at SAU. The initiative aims to empower university management with the knowledge and strategies needed to ensure financial discipline, promote accountability, and strengthen institutional performance.
This program reflects SAU’s commitment to fostering good governance, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring responsible financial stewardship in alignment with national policies and global standards.
