Md Meftaul Islam (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons.) and Master of Science in Horticulture from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University and achieved Dean’s Award for his outstanding results at undergraduate and master’s level. He also completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Remediation under International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (UNIPRS) & UNRS Central Scholarship at Global Centre for Environmental Remediation (GCER), The University of Newcastle (UON), Australia. Meftaul’s research broadly focuses on agrochemicals (pesticides and fertilizers) and trace elements contamination, remediation, contaminant-microbe interactions, bioavailability and bioaccessibility, and food safety. He also engages in research on packaging, shelf life, and postharvest management of horticultural crops. His current research focuses on fate and behavior, particularly sorption-desorption, degradation, food safety, and human and environmental health risk assessment of pesticides in a wide ranges of urban soils. So far he published thirty (30) research articles in different international peer-reviewed journals. He is a reviewer of more than ten peer-reviewed international journals. Research Interest: Urban Pesticide; Food Safety; Remediation of organic and inorganic contaminants; Contaminant-microbe interactions; Urban agriculture; Plant nutrition
