Dr. Debu Kumar Bhattacharjya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Ehime University, Japan, under the prestigious MEXT Scholarship, which reflects his strong academic excellence and international research exposure. Dr. Bhattacharjya’s research primarily focuses on mushroom biotechnology, biochemical analysis, and the evaluation of antioxidant properties of natural products. His work particularly emphasizes the biochemical characterization of wild mushrooms, exploring their potential as sources of bioactive compounds with nutritional and medicinal value. He is experienced in a wide range of analytical and experimental techniques, including DPPH radical scavenging assays, α-Glucosidase inhibitory assays, NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, chromatographic techniques and controlled cultivation trials. Through these approaches, he investigates the functional properties and biochemical composition of natural resources. His ongoing research aims to advance the identification and characterization of natural products derived from plant samples, contributing to the discovery of novel bioactive compounds with potential applications in pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. With a strong commitment to research and teaching, Dr. Bhattacharjya continues to contribute to the advancement of biochemical sciences and the sustainable utilization of natural resources.
