Md. Nazmus Sakib, Lecturer of the Department of Fisheries Biology and Genetics at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, was born in Narsingdi district. He received the UGC Merit Scholarship 2022 for securing the first rank in the Faculty of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Marine Science with the highest CGPA of 3.96 out of 4.00. Previously in SSC-2014, JSC-2011, and Primary Education Exam-2008, he had obtained 11th place in Dhaka Board, 2nd place in Narsingdi District, and 5th place in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila and got government scholarships in the 'Talent Pool' category in each. He attended the Higher Secondary Examination from Rajuk Uttara Model College, Dhaka, and the Secondary School Examination from Brahmandi Kamini Kishore Maulik Government High School. Currently, he is involved in various research activities in the fisheries sector at the Aquatic Bioresource Research Lab, SAU, along with his postgraduate studies. Several research articles have already been published as co-authors in international journals, and some more research articles are in the process of publication.   Apart from his academic activities, he is the newly departed President of the SAU Computer Club and the founding 'Head of Control Board' of the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences-IAAS Bangladesh SAU-Dhaka, SAU Entrepreneurship Development Club, served as Event Planning Secretary of the SAU Photography Society and involved in various cultural and social organizations of his university. He is also serving as the IT and Communication Secretary of 'Bangladesh Fish Hospital', a non-profit organization that provides free fisheries services to the fishermen and farmers of rural Bengal. Moreover, he has several achievements as a winner in essay writing, drawing, general knowledge, poetry recitation and debating competitions at school, college and university levels. 

Research Interests: Marine Fisheries, Aquatic Ecology, Fisheries Resource Management, Environmental DNA (eDNA), Marine Biodiversity, Fish Population Dynamics, Stock Assessment, Fish Population Genetics, Genomics, Fisheries Genetic Engineering, Gene Editing, Fisheries Molecular Biology, Fisheries Biotechnology, Marine Biology, Marine and Coastal Ecosystems, GIS and Remote Sensing in Marine Fisheries, Oceanography, and Climate Change.
