Teacher Overview

Nurul Habib is a Lecturer in the Department of Aquaculture at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, where he joined in December 2023. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Science, followed by an M.Sc. in Aquaculture, both from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. His master's research focused on stable isotope (δ¹³C, δ¹⁵N) analysis and trophic network analysis in integrated mangrove-shrimp farming systems. His research interests lie in sustainable and climate-resilient aquaculture, with particular focus on shrimp production systems, aquatic food webs, nutritional aquaculture and the environmental factors that shape farm productivity. He has also studied the effect of mangroves on the growth performance and water quality of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) in an integrated mangrove-shrimp system. Before joining the university, he worked as a Research Fellow on the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project at the Department of Fisheries, Bangladesh. He teaches undergraduate students and continues to develop his research in aquaculture.
