Welcome to the Department of Plant Pathology

The Department of Plant Pathology is one of the pioneering and leading department at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. Our goal is to bring significant impact in cutting edge research on improving disease management in agricultural crops in laboratory, greenhouse, and in the field. We encourage and promote fundamental and applied research on pathogenic and beneficial microbes, and their interaction with host plants and the environment to meet the needs of the growers.

We also have a strong extension component to integrate and extend our knowledge and provide necessary management recommendations with proper disease diagnosis to ensure better plant health, crop production, and food safety which are sustainable and ecofriendly. Experiments in the laboratory are varied and span from field research to molecular approaches.
