Md Jisan Ahmed has been working as a Lecturer in the Department of Pathology at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka, Bangladesh, since January 2026. As an early-career academic, Mr. Jisan is highly passionate, research-driven, and committed to advancing scientific knowledge in molecular epidemiology, infectious diseases, and One Health. He actively engages in teaching, research, and collaborative projects to address emerging and transboundary animal diseases in Bangladesh and beyond.

Mr. Jisan completed his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (2019) and Master of Science in Pathology (2023) from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. His MS research focused on the clinical investigation of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) virus in small ruminants circulating in Bangladesh. He was awarded the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship (2022) by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh, in recognition of his academic excellence and research potential.

Throughout his academic career, Mr. Jisan has been actively involved in several nationally and internationally funded research projects supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Forum (WFF), and the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System (SAURES). His research primarily focuses on molecular characterization, spatiotemporal epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), climate–disease modeling, and predictive analytics (ARIMA, Random Forest, XGBoost) for transboundary animal diseases such as PPR, Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD). He has published multiple research and review articles in reputable international journals, including Scientific Reports, PLOS One, Poultry Science, and Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, as well as book chapters with internationally recognized publishers such as Springer Nature and Taylor & Francis. He has also presented his research findings at international scientific conferences, including the 7th PPR Global Research and Expertise Network Annual Meeting in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Mr. Jisan possesses strong expertise in molecular diagnostics and genomics, including RNA extraction, PCR, ELISA, bacterial culture, DNA sequencing, RNA-Seq, phylogenetic tree construction, and bioinformatics workflows (FastQC, Trimmomatic, SPAdes, Prokka, Roary, Bowtie2, IGV). He is proficient in statistical and epidemiological analysis using R, SPSS, Stata, and ArcGIS, as well as advanced predictive modeling. His research integrates laboratory-based molecular techniques with computational epidemiology and One Health frameworks to understand disease dynamics and antimicrobial resistance patterns.

In addition to his academic and research activities, Mr. Jisan is the founder of a team, the Association of Coding, Technology, and Genomics (ACTG), at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. ACTG was established as a research-driven platform to support and mentor young researchers in bioinformatics, coding, genomics, epidemiology, and data science. Through this initiative, he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing analytical skills, promoting collaborative research, and fostering innovation in molecular and computational biology. The platform aims to bridge the gap between laboratory research and computational approaches by providing hands-on training, workshops, and collaborative publication opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Research Interest: Bioinformatics, Gut microbiome, Virology, AMR, Public Health, Zoonosis, Molecular epidemiology
