Dr. Roksana Jahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Jahan has been serving as the head of the Department of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography since October 2019.  She achieved PhD in Marine Science and Biological Engineering from Inha University, Korea. During PhD, she was doing research on "Long-term variability of phytoplankton phenology and community structure in the Gyeonggi Bay". She had post-doctoral research experience from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China and Pukyung National University, Korea. She completed BSc. in Fisheries (Hons.) and MS in Fisheries Management from Bangladesh Agricultural University. Her research mainly focuses on long term data-set of phytoplankton phenology and community structure relation to climate change and eutrophication. She has also experience on harmful algal blooms (HABs), marine ecology as well as marine fisheries.

Course taught: Biological and Chemical Oceanography (MFOG 351, 352), Marine, Estuarine and Coastal Ecology (MFOG 251, 252), Marine Environment and Pollution (MFOG 401), Marine Fisheries Management (MFOG 451)
