Information and Communication Centre


The Information and Communication Center (ICC) has launched on December 28, 2013. ICC welcomes all the global community to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University a public university that laid the foundation of tertiary agricultural education of the nation. The ICC has its administration office located at the Library Building, SAU and is headed by a Director. The ICC is responsible for the implementation, development of Local Area Network (LAN) and Internet connectivity through underground fiber optic in the entire area of our university besides this IT infrastructure development along with website maintenance and development of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University ( and also provides operational support to all users in this area via Wi-Fi connectivity in academic sections. All students hall, residence of teachers and officers are also under coverage in our Wi-Fi network.

To be an instrument for transforming the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University to a world-class standard through the provision of ICT facilities, tools and knowledge. 

Our Mission

In pursuance of our vision, the ICC will promote the increased use of functional state-of-the-art resources for Teaching and Learning, Research, Training and Consultancy Services for students, staff and the society at large.

Highlights of our Work Plan


  • Maintenance/support for University Website and Portal services (Server room, Video conference room, Data center, LAN and Internet, Wi-Fi connectivity, IP-PBX)
  • Liaison with the SAU authority to meet computing resources need and ensure benefit realization from Third Party application providers.
  • Training Workshops for staff in areas of need.
  • Acquisition of the necessary software tools/standards for software application development.
  • Deployment of LAN (Wired or Wireless)
  • Digitization/Clean up of existing systems
  • Development of Information Security/ Back up/Recovery Plan
  • Development of an ICT policy on processes and procedures
